Roblox Acquires Morpheus AI to Power Its Next-Generation AI Gaming Vision
Roblox Doubles Down on AI-Powered Game Worlds
Roblox has announced the acquisition of Morpheus AI, a startup focused on AI-generated world models, as part of its broader vision for the upcoming Roblox Reality architecture.
Founded in 2025 by Roblox Technical Director Xun Huang, Morpheus AI specializes in technology that can simulate and generate interactive virtual worlds in real time. The acquisition will help Roblox bridge traditional game engines with generative AI systems, potentially changing how games and virtual experiences are created.
According to Roblox, the new Roblox Reality platform aims to use AI world models that can enhance and generate game environments dynamically. Early concept images show AI taking standard game renders and upgrading them using 3D world data, creating richer and more immersive experiences.
"We've always believed video world models will reshape how games are created," Morpheus AI stated. The company says joining Roblox will allow its technology to reach millions of players through the platform's vast ecosystem.
Roblox plans to release an early version of Roblox Reality later this year. If successful, the technology could mark a major step toward AI-generated game worlds where environments evolve and respond intelligently in real time.
As competition in AI-powered gaming intensifies, Roblox is positioning itself at the forefront of the next generation of interactive digital experiences.
